TMCAqua™ – Applications (Examples)

Spray Drying

Spray Drying is an industrial process where Liquid or Slurry is fed into a reactor where it is atomized and exposed to temperature whereby the water is evaporated and solids are collected as product. A spray dryer is typically connected to a particulate collection device downstream such as a cyclone separator or a bag-house.

This is an ideal application for TMCAqua™ to recover water and energy from this stack. As much as 80% of the water and available enthalpy can be recovered by TMCAqua™ and can be re-used in the process as hot water.

Some examples include chemical processes, paints and pigments, food and nutrition and pharmaceutical.

Paper Drying

Industrial paper making process utilizes a lot of water in the pulp making process. Once the paper is rolled out, it still contains a lot of water which must be evaporated. This is done in special dryers where the moisture is then exhausted through vents into the atmosphere.

This is an ideal application for TMCAqua™ to recover water and energy from this stack. As much as 80% of the water and available enthalpy can be recovered by TMCAqua™ and can be re-used in the process as hot water.

Package Boilers

Package Boilers are used in a majority of Industrial and commercial facilities to provide steam for process and heating. Package boilers by and large use Natural Gas for combustion.

Natural gas combustion produces water in the exhaust gas stream. Each MMBtu (MMcf) of gas combusted produces roughly 12.5 gallons of water per hour. This is a vapor rich gas stream that is an ideal application for the TMC technology.

Typical results for gas combustion applications are 40-60% recovery of available moisture as clean water and as much as a 15% improvement in efficiency.

Some industries include Food, Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Petrochemical.

Commercial Laundry – Steam Tunnels

Steam tunnels are used in several industries to heat and treat product. In the commercial laundry industry, steam tunnels are used for removing wrinkles from garments. The steam from the tunnel is typically exhausted up a stack where it is vented.

This is an ideal application for TMCAqua™ to recover water and energy from this stack. As much as 60% of the water and available enthalpy can be recovered by TMCAqua™ and can be re-used in the process as hot water or to make new steam.
